Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) lit the world on fire in 2017. It sold millions before it even left Early Access on Steam, and kicked off the battle royale gaming craze we’re experiencing right this moment. Not a long time ago this FPS juggernaut landed on mobile.
In PUBG you play being a mercenary who parachutes, along with as much as 99 other players, onto an island. Once they land, players scavenge for weapons, ammo, armor, and other supplies in the last-man-standing pubg mobile triggers
death match. The game’s map starts large, but quickly shrinks since the electrical storm round the island collapses into progressively smaller circles, forcing players together because the game proceeds.
It’s an easy concept with plenty of room for complexity. You land on a tropical with 99 other folks simply your fists. Find a gun and grow inside circle. Last one standing wins. Is it worth playing? That’s might know about make an effort to learn with this PUBG Mobile review.
The Mobile version of PUBG has virtually all the features of the PC counterpart, by incorporating exceptions. The game only offers PUBG’s original map, Erangel – an abandoned, vaguely Eastern European 8km x 8km island. Everything from your PC version on this map – from your abandoned military base towards the burned out nuclear power plant – has made it on the Mobile version of the game.
All the weapons, gear, and vehicles available when PUBG first exited Early Access are here too. The guns it’s added since are absent, out of the box the action’s second map, Miramar.
The game is very free. You can login as whether guest or with Facebook to learn. Gameplay and daily login rewards will earn your bank account experience and battle points, which may be allocated to crates that have a random little bit of clothing on your character. Unlike within the PC version, you don’t start with any available clothing, but getting access to least a couple of pants doesn’t take to much time.
The matchmaking works pretty quickly when queueing in squad, duo, or solo mode, though many in the options in the PC version are absent. Creating a private custom match doesn’t are most often possible at this time. There’s a menu option for creating a “room,” nonetheless it seems to be for creating forums, and in addition doesn’t appear to actually work yet.
I never had to wait long to be matched with a squad, though connection issues were pretty common. Every team I tinkered with had at least one player disconnect in the outset in the game. I never ran into any connection issues when I played, but no less than one teammate was unresponsive in most games.
The game has built-in voice chat, which works, although it seems like most players only use their phone’s speaker for any mic. If the mic is about the bottom from the phone, out of the box common, it can result in some pretty annoying extra noise when players’ palms rub against it.
It’s all well and good if PUBG Mobile faithfully recreates the island’s geography and lets you utilise all the guns and drive all of the cars in the original game, if the controls aren’t as much as the work, everything falls apart.
To be clear: the controls in PUBG Mobile aren’t nearly as good or accurate because PC version. Duh.
The game uses virtual joysticks for player movement and camera control, and a big button using a bullet for the right will shoot your gun. It’s just a little clumsy to start with, but usually feels pretty fluid right after games.
It’s a little clumsy at first, but actually feels pretty fluid after a few games.
The game comes with a few different control options to make everything feel somewhat better and get rid from the awkwardness of looking for buttons you can’t find by feel. A floating shoot button, which moves to wherever your thumb last touched, makes shooting as easy as tapping where your finger already is, instead of the need to reorient your hand to achieve the area that fires the gun. Items are automatically acquired, sorted, and equipped in game, which cuts down on some tedious menu management. The game also offers gyroscopic control options, which I’ve never enjoyed, but a majority of rely on.
Even with those options, the action still feels just a little clumsy. That clumsiness actually impacts what forms of tactics and gameplay work well. In the PC version, snipers could be pretty dominant. Erangel is a fairly open up map, you can find long stretches of relatively even terrain dotted with hills. Finding a good vantage point to pick people off isn’t hard. The precision of the mouse and keyboard makes this easier still.
Fights in PUBG Mobile are more oriented around mid- and close-range engagements. It’s challenging to hit people really consistently far away on this game. It’s even harder when accounting for bullet drop. Automatic weapons, and also shotguns, using wider reticles, seem especially potent here.
Vehicles often play a greater combat role too. In the PC version of PUBG, vehicles be a liability as the map gets smaller — they’re big, loud, and hard to miss. In PUBG Mobile, they’re actually pretty an easy task to miss. A fast moving target being a jeep, especially with someone inside the passenger seat having a gun, can effortlessly ride throughout the perimeter of the circle and pick people off, even near the end of the game.
What makes PUBG a reasonably good-looking game on PC seems missing inside the Mobile version. The lighting and particle effects that truly sell the action’s look supply been just about stripped out, and possibly rightly so. Those sorts of elements can be pretty demanding for hardware. The result is a pretty bland-looking recreation. The terrain, characters, and weapons all look approximately exactly the same because PC version, just with muddier, lower-resolution textures.
The game ran pretty steady on my own LG G6, however it definitely had its great amount of hiccups. I wouldn’t recommend playing on anything much older than that. I tried loading the action on its minimum iOS option, the iPhone 5s, and yes it crashed before loading the main menu every single time. I’d imagine Android phones of the similar age would struggle as much.
Regular gameplay ran fine most in the time. There were usually serious frame rate drops when parachuting down to the island, but that’s not totally shocking. It solved after I landed, when the action will no longer was required to render the full island.
The audio is quite awful. In most versions of PUBG, hearing the direction and number of noises like gunshots and footsteps is fairly imperative that you learning an enemy’s location. It’s a great deal harder to share with these records within the mobile version. Footsteps were especially loud and many types of sounded pretty much a similar in my experience. Regardless of where these were, once someone was within 15 or 20 feet of me, everything sounded a similar. It all sounded bad too.
PUBG Mobile is fun, but it’s significantly less tense since its PC counterpart. The stakes feel lower, also it misses from a whole lot of why the PC version with the game so special — In essence, it feels a bit hollow.
PUBG has become numerous updates and improvements mainly because it launched. PUBG Mobile has brought much the same treatment having a variety of major updates to the game, like the new Sanhok map. You can keep track of the new updates on our official patch notes page. Also, know that some markets can download PUBG Mobile Lite, a version of the game that could run on lower-end or older smartphones.
If you’re looking to get a new mobile shooter, you could do a lot worse than PUBG Mobile. The game is perhaps all there, it functions, and it’s free. But if you would like the identical strategic, nail-biting experience from the PC version, you may well be just a little disappointed.

Glitches, glitches and zip but glitches! After a recent update I cannot pick up items, it just keeps attempting to. I cannot climb in windows sometimes and my character freezes at the windows and won’t move away. Features like crouching work. I shot another character with the entire clip and absolutely nothing happened. Sometimes you’ve got a great game then you ruin it by looking to make it better. Leave it alone and create a whole other game if you are the call to change things. Brutal! I may delete it!!
